WALL-E Tread Motion using the Bullet Engine

Recommended Posts

Hi All -

This is my first post in response to Steven H., who asked a question regarding how I created my WALL-E tread animation using the Bullet Engine.  (The animation clip should be somewhere in the Gallery Section, showing WALL-E passing by the camera, while his wheel treads are in motion.)  Here's a PDF file with a description of how I approached the problem, and some Quicktime movies showing some intermediate motion tests.  I hope this answers any questions out there :-)  Chip.

Nice write up. Excellent tips. The hint about having various guide planes and other objects to keep simulations in line is priceless. Of course you turn then off and render once the simulation has been calculated.

Good stuff.

Hey Chip,

You might want to consider doing a full blown tutorial with the EI files.  And then sell it thru the EI web site.  I know I would pay for it.  Maybe a video but not absolutely necessary.
